10 Encouraging Bible Verses About Healing

No matter what you’re walking through—pain in your body, grief in your heart, or discouragement in your spirit—God’s Word is alive. And when we believe what it says, it changes everything. I’ve seen people healed on the spot just from reading a verse and believing it. I’ve watched hearts melt, minds clear, and bodies restored. Not because of hype, but because of Jesus.

So if you’re hurting, I want to offer you some hope straight from the Word. These aren’t just comforting words; they’re truth. They’re promises you can stand on. Below are 10 encouraging Bible verses about healing—each one a lifeline for anyone who needs God’s touch right now.

1. Isaiah 53:5 (NKJV)

“But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.”

This is one of the most foundational healing scriptures in the Bible. The Cross didn’t just pay for our sin—it paid for our healing. Jesus took it all. When you believe this verse, healing becomes not just possible, but available.

2. Psalm 103:2, 3 (NKJV)

“Bless the Lord, O my soul,
And forget not all His benefits:
Who forgives all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases.”

This is one of the most quoted bible verses for healing, and for good reason. God is not a halfway healer. His benefits include complete forgiveness and total healing.

3. Jeremiah 30:17 (NKJV)

“For I will restore health to you
And heal you of your wounds,” says the Lord,
“Because they called you an outcast saying: ‘This is Zion;
No one seeks her.’”

There’s no place too broken for God to restore. This is one of the most hope-filled Bible scriptures on healing, especially if you feel forgotten or cast aside.

4. James 5:14, 15 (NKJV)

“Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.”

These healing scriptures in the Bible remind us that healing and forgiveness go hand-in-hand. Healing happens in the atmosphere of faith and repentance.

5. Matthew 8:16, 17 (NKJV)

“When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: ‘He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses.’”

Jesus absolutely fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah. If you’re looking for clear Bible verses on healing, this one connects Old Testament promise to New Testament fulfillment.

6. 3 John 1:2 (NKJV)

“Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.”

7. Mark 5:34 (NKJV)

“And He said to her, ‘Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction.’”

This is more than a story. It’s an invitation. This Bible verse for healing is proof that Jesus honors hungry, faith-filled hearts that reach for Him.

8. Proverbs 4:20–22 (NKJV)

“My son, give attention to my words;”
